Recipe of the WEEK: Sourdough Gingerbread
Sourdough Gingerbread

1-½ c. sourdough starter

½ c. butter

½ c. sugar

1 egg, beaten

1 c. molasses

½ tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. ginger

½ tsp. salt

½ tsp. baking soda

½ c. flour

Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cream together butter and sugar. Add the beaten egg and mix well. Add molasses and beat well.

Add sourdough, cinnamon, ginger, salt and baking soda. Add flour and beat 2 minutes.

Pour into greased and floured 9x9x2 pan and bake for 55 minutes. Use a toothpick to test doneness. Cool.

Top with ice cream or whipped cream.
