JUNEAU - Boston-based choreographer Dr. Jody Weber brings "Of Bones and Marrow," an evening of dances, to Juneau, sponsored by Juneau Dance Unlimited, Juneau Arts and Humanities Council and the Alaska State Council on the Arts. The performance questions our relationship through our bodies and spirits to the natural world and navigates the contemporary forces that impede our experience of connection. The evening also includes "Vestige," a dance investigating family relationships through storytelling and memory. The company will offer four additional works, and Weber will set two works performed by students from JDU.
The choreographer will lead an open discussion between dances on the nature of the work and its development.
The performance will take place Aug. 21 at 7 pm at the Juneau Arts and Culture Center. Tickets are $5 and available from the Juneau Dance Unlimited office, Juneau Arts and Humanities Council, Hearthside Books or at the door.
