More than 200 people came to the ground-braking ceremony of the Church of the Holy Trinity and the home of the McPhetres Theatre on Aug. 4. After being devastated by a fire in March of 2006, many people and organizations came together, in the true Juneau spirit, to offer immediate help as well as the necessary assistance with rebuilding of the church anew. The ceremony started with the blessing of the grounds - the Reverends Hunter and George Silides distributed geranium flowers, with the help of the youth, to the attendees, who were asked to dunk them in blessed water and shake them over the lot. Their daughter, Grace, dressed in a pink outfit and wearing Xtratufs, epitomized a new beginning, rooted in the Juneau community.
