Candidate filing now open for assembly, school board
City and Borough of Juneau
Juneau residents seeking local political office may now begin filing candidacy nominating petitions with the Municipal Clerk's office. Three assembly seats and two school board seats are open for the Oct. 2, municipal election. The clerks will accept nominating petitions signed by a minimum of 25 registered CBJ voters until 4:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13.

Nominating petitions can be obtained at the clerk's office, Room 202, City Hall, 155 S. Seward St, or be downloaded online at http://www.juneau.org/clerk/elections.

Assembly seats open include one area-wide member, currently held by Johan Dybdahl; one District #1 member, currently held by Jeff Bush; and one District #2 member, currently held by Randy Wanamaker. Area-wide school board seats open are currently held by Mary Becker and Bill Peters. All seats are for three-year terms.

As a reminder, any Juneau voter may obtain an absentee ballot for any reason. Applications for an absentee ballots are available on-line and at the clerk's office. For more information, check online, or contact the clerk at 586-5278.
