JUNEAU - The LaPerouse Alaska Association will present a talk on "Cartography of the LaPerouse Expedition in Alaska in 1786" at the Downtown Library Large Conference Room Saturday Aug. 8 at 3 p.m.
Marine Pilot John Baldry will present the illustrated talk on the map-making of the LaPerouse expedition, and marine pilots Larry Vose and Bob Winter will present about "Navigating into Lituya Bay."
The presentations are free and the public is invited.
The LaPerouse Alaska Association, formed this year, plans future presentations about the early European explorers in Alaska, and the Tlingit people they encountered.
