On behalf of the members of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, and especially the organizers of this event, I wanted to convey our thanks for our Summer Solstice Garden Tour and Plant Sale. It was a wonderful success, which raised over $2,500 to benefit the rebuilding process of Holy Trinity Church and McPhetre's Hall; thanks in large part to David Lendrum and Margaret Tharp of Landscape Alaska and Bruce Abel of Don Abel Building Supply for their generous donations to our plant sale. A big thank you to David Ottoson and Mary Alice McKeen of Rainbow Foods who provided a garden to tour, goodies for garden guests as well as food that was available for sale at the plant sale. Very grateful thanks to our local media folks - the Juneau Empire, Capital City Weekly, Capital Copy, KTOO, KRNN, KXLL and KINY radio stations for their generous public service efforts- especially "A Juneau Afternoon"with Jeff Brown/KTOO "CapitalChat"/KINY and Ed Schoenfeld and Betsy Longenbaugh for creating and producing a wonderful PSA to promote the event. A very special thanks to Jim and Judy Hauck, Ted Heslin (gardener for Rainbow Foods) Bruce and Mary Jane Tenney, Shirley Campbell and Ginger Johnson who welcomed guests to the gardens they so lovingly tend. Finally, thank you to all who sold tickets, bought tickets, bought plants, made plant donations from your own gardens, provided volunteer help on the day of the event and joined us for our garden tour and plant sale to help rebuild Holy Trinity Church and McPhetre's Hall.
I would like to thank the following sponsors for their help in supporting me to participate in People to People were I traveled to Australia this summer. While in Australia I met The Mayor of Burdekin Shire and took part in "Full On" where I learned to conquer my fears and learned leadership skills. I enjoyed spreading good will of Alaska and the United States while in Australia.
