SIKTA - On Friday, July 23, the Sitka Conservation Society is offering a Tongass Summer Boat Cruise from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. entitled "Pinnacles to Peak: Kruzof, A Unique Island Environment." Boarding begins at 5:15 pm at Crescent Harbor. This informative trip will travel to Kruzof Island and a visit by St. Lazaria Island, Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge, will be weather dependent.
Tickets are $40 and can be purchased with cash or check at Old Harbor Books or at the Crescent Harbor loading dock at time of the cruise. Food is not provided but hot beverages are complimentary and individuals may bring their own food on board. Binoculars are available on board for all.
Guest speakers on board will include Cleo Brylinsky, Groundfish Project Manager with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Annemarie LaPalme, Cabin Trail Planner with the US Forest Service, and Kelsey Jacobsen, Coastal Protection AmeriCorp with Sitka Conservation Society.
