Gun club advises of neighborhood noise
The Juneau Gun Club would like to inform residences of the Montana Creek area and the surrounding public of the disturbance caused by the nature of their sport.

The Juneau Gun Club is a non-profit corporation supported by a volunteer board of directors and is located at .5 mile Montana Creek Road. Their recreational facility features shooting competitions, a trap league, and loud noises.

The Montana Creek area is open to new planning and building permits. Contractor have had a continual interested in developing this area and should be advised of JGC's position.

The club is open to the public on Wednesdays from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. and on Sundays from 10 p.m.-2 p.m. They hold both ATA and PITA competitions on the second Saturday of every month. The league is also subject to hold practices throughout the week.

Neighbors and prospect residences should be advised that open gun-fire during these times are audibly disturbing. The gun club would like the local area to be aware of their location when moving into the vicinity. Malcolm Menzies, secretary of the Juneau Gun Club, would like the JGC to be put on the government property maps so people know of their presence and are aware of the traveling noise they make. He believes people should be informed of this before they make decisions to move into the area, thus avoiding any problems that may arise from ignorance.
