Evens saw the article "Autistic teen seeks a helping paw" in the July 2 Capital City Weekly and wanted to get involved.
"He just seemed like a great kid," Evans said.
Evans will be in Juneau for the third time to offer his airbrushing classes, sponsored by Valley Paint.
"Even though I live in California, I am happy to support worthwhile causes," Evans wrote. "And I believe this to be one. I have always liked the good people of Juneau (and) it's my turn to pay it back."
Evans' class will hold up to 50 people and will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on July 19. At the end of the class he will write a check for 20% of all proceeds and present it to Chris Brenner.
The class will be held at Mendenhall Auto at 8602 Teal St. For more information call Charlie Williams at (907) 789-9875 or visit www.paintbysimon.com
