Unclaimed property: New address, same services
The Alaska Unclaimed Property program has a new address as the program moves to the Department of Revenue's Tax Division.

While the office will remain in the State Office Building, 11th floor, the new mailing address is: P.O. Box 110420, Juneau, Alaska 99811-0420. The new Web site is www.tax.state.ak.us\UnclaimedProperty.

"We will continue to offer the same services to assist Alaskans with finding unclaimed property," said Rachel Lewis, Alaska's Unclaimed Property administrator.

"We have a web-based searchable database of all persons with unclaimed property."

Unclaimed property includes bank accounts, insurance proceeds or safety deposit box contents, and gift certificates and cards, Lewis said.

Unclaimed property doesn't include real estate, cars and most other physical property.

The state Web site has a link to unclaimed property in other states and a national searchable database.

For more information, call 907-465-3726 or send an e-mail to unclaimed_property@revenue.state.ak.us.
