Alaska Geographic is offering teens from Southeast Alaska and the Yukon a trip of a lifetime to hike from the Lynn Canal to the headwaters of the Yukon the river. The trip departs on the Chilkoot Trail from Aug. 3 and returns Aug. 8. This free teen trip is 5 nights and 6 days and includes food, train tickets, gear rental, and environmental education programming. The trip is offered and organized by the Skagway Recreation Center and special programs are presented by National Park Service Park Rangers. Teens will also be invited to join the National Park Service Trail Crew to improve portions of the Chilkoot Trail Additionally; there is an extra pre-hike overnight trip.
