T&H Head Start now accepting applications

Will your child be ready for kindergarten? Why not give your child a Head Start?

Tlingit & Haida Head Start is now accepting applications for the 2009 - 2010 school year.

Tlingit & Haida Head Start is a free preschool program serving children 3 - 5 years old. Children must be age three by September 1, 2009. There are Center Base services offered in nine communities throughout Southeast: Craig, Hoonah, Juneau, Klawock, Petersburg, Saxman, Sitka, Wrangell and Yakutat.

Head Start offers a classroom experience three to four hours a day, four days a week. Head Start provides developmentally appropriate activities, social skill development, two nutritious meals, and access to medical and dental health services as well as mental health and disabilities services.
