SEARHC announces July 4 clinic closures

The SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) will recognize Independence Day on July 4.

Since Independence Day happens on a Saturday this year, most SEARHC clinics will be closed on Friday, July 3. This will allow employees to observe the holiday with a long weekend.

The Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital emergency room in Sitka will be open on Friday and staff will be working as normal to take care of hospitalized patients. The regular Saturday walk-in urgent care clinic will take place on July 4 at Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital, but all other Saturday clinics will be closed.

At the Ethel Lund Medical Center in Juneau, a walk-in urgent care clinic will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, July 3. No other outpatient clinics, laboratory, radiology or pharmacy services will be open on Friday and all Juneau services will be closed on Saturday.

The SEARHC clinics in Haines, Klawock and smaller villages will be closed on both Friday and Saturday. As usual, there will have medical staff on call for any emergency that needs assistance from one of the remote facilities.
