The annual conference was held June 11-15 this year and featured workshops, panel discussions and readings from acclaimed authors, editors and literary agents from Alaska and the Lower 48. Michael Cunningham was this year's keynote speaker.
Cunningham summed up his advice for writers as follows: "Don't panic and never give up." Part of never giving up is writing everyday. "Don't let a day go by without looking at your writing, putting down a sentence," he said. "You need to stay in regular contact with it."
He encouraged writers to stretch themselves. "As a writer you want to feel like you're in over your head and are still learning how to do this."
