The Learning Connection holds GED ceremony, thanks those involved
The Learning Connection held its GED Graduation and Alaska Vocational Institute's Graduation and Award Ceremony on June 8th at the Alaska Native Brotherhood Hall. Last year, 225 Southeast residents earned their GEDs and this ceremony honored their achievement along with 14 students who graduated from the Alaska Vocational Institute - a workforce development program.

The Learning Connection would like to thank Holland America for its support as the events sponsor and the following businesses for donating to the Alaska Vocational Institute Scholarship Fund: First Bank, First National Bank Alaska, Coeur Alaska Kensington Gold Mine, Alaska Litho, Juneau Empire, Elgee Rehfeld Mertz CPAs, Southeast Alaska Animal Medical Center, Ketchikan Cabaret, Hotel, Restaurant & Retailer's Association, Vocational Training & Resource Center, Faulkner Banfield PC, Alaska Native Sisterhood, and the Filipino Community. We would also like to thank the Alaska Native Brotherhood Camp 2 for the use of the ANB Hall and Glacier Gardens, Martha's Flowers, and Miss Scarlet's Flowers for the beautiful flowers along with Tlingit and Haida Central Council for its support to our students.
