The Alaska Marine Highway System ferry Matanuska was scheduled to resume service in Alaska June 23, sailing southbound from Ketchikan. The Matanuska had been in Portland for a nine-month overhaul. The return was delayed three days so the crew could be trained on a new evacuation system and new automated testing system in the ship's engine room.
