JUNEAU - Celebrate summer and the end of the fiscal year at Perseverance Theatre's final "production" of its 30th Anniversary Season, Salmon-chanted Evening, at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday July 28 at the Thane Ore House.
Now in its fourth year, the centerpiece of the event is the Thane Ore House's all-you-can-eat buffet featuring salmon, halibut, side salads, baked beans and non-alcoholic beverages. An Alaskan beer and wine cash bar will also be available. Rounding out the menu will be the annual Divine Dessert Auction, with epicurean treats "modeled" by a cast of "divine dessert divas" (and possibly "divos").
Created as a fun-raiser and fund-raiser to help the Theatre end its fiscal year in the black, this year's Red Ticket Raffle will again feature gift certificates to some of the area's finest establishments. And Deborah Smith, who produced and directed "Wearable Arts" for many years, as well as for the Juneau Douglas Little Theatre and other community performances, will weave songs from seasons past onto the Thane Ore House stage while showcasing - and auctioning - desserts.
"Thirty years provides a wide array of musical numbers and great voices," Smith said. "The real challenge is limiting myself to just a few songs from the past 30 years."
Admission is $23 for adults, $1 for each year of age for those 17 and under.
Tickets are available from board members and volunteers, or by calling 463-TIXS. For more information, call 364-2421 - x/226 for Ruth, x/228 for Jenny.
