JUNEAU - The Juneau Symphony is proud to announce the winners of the 2009 Youth Concerto Competition, held June 10. David Miller won first place in the senior division with Mozart's Concerto in G on the violin. Finn Sinclair won first place in the junior division with Accolay's Violin Concerto No. 1. Both David and Finn have been invited to perform with the Juneau Student Symphony during their 2009-2010 season. Carrie Comstock won second prize in the senior division playing Haydn's Concerto in D Major on the piano and Alaska's Kit won second prize in the junior division singing "Into the West" by Howard Shore and Annie Lennox. The judges commended all of the musicians for their excellent performances. The next competition will be in June 2010. Learn more at www.juneausymphony.org.
