GUSTAVUS - Locals and out-of-towners alike are invited to come to Gustavus for a town-wide scavenger hunt and open mic July 4. The hunt list will be released July 3 at 10 p.m. All teams must consist of at least one local, one visitor and one non-human. All acts are based on the principles of beautification, goodwill and local knowledge.
The first task will be to make a costume for the parade, or for more points, your own float.
Most of the hunt is a secret until July 3, but a few other possible tasks include the following: Figure out a way your team could auction itself in the school fundraiser. Get permission to kidnap at least one kid for one hour. Recruit a new team member. Get a teenager to hug you.
The hunt ends at 8 p.m. with an open mic, awards ceremony, slideshow and party.
