Southeast branch named finalist for agency of the year
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Alaska has been selected as one of the top three Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies in the nation in its size category this year.

BBBS Executive Director Marc Wheeler was also named a finalist for CEO of the Year.

Finalists were selected by a nationwide panel of staff peers and volunteers using criteria such as growth in number of children served, revenue growth, and program quality.

The winners for mid-sized Agency of the Year and CEO of the Year will be announced on June 29, 2006 at the BBBS of America National Conference in Indianapolis.

BBBS of Southeast Alaska served 560 youth in one-to-one mentoring relationships in 2005 and serves the communities of Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan, Yakutat, Hoonah, Haines, Skagway, Klukwan, and Metlakatla.

There are 424 other BBBS agencies in more than 5,000 communities across the country.
