CBJ Recycling Center days changed

The CBJ Recycling Program, operated by Waste Management and located at the Juneau Landfill, changed public use days beginning June 12. The facility will be open for public use on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

In order to safely accommodate the deposit of collected materials by curbside recycling vehicles, the facility will be limited to Arrow Refuse use exclusively other days.

"While we always want the facility to be open for public use as often as possible, with Arrow's new program, the concept of having both residents and Arrow use the facility at the same time could create some safety issues. The hope is that the new curbside recycling program will assist CBJ in reaching the goal of diverting material from the landfill, and so we support Waste Management's decision to separate the users to maintain safe operations," said Kirk Duncan, CBJ Public Works Director.

For questions contact Waste Management at 780 -7801. For curbside recycling contact Arrow Refuse at 523- 5890.
