Alaskan artist to appear on Oregon's Live Wire! Radio
Juneau artist Rory Stitt was featured on Live Wire! Radio on June 22.

The comedy variety show, taped at the Aladdin Theatre in Portland, Ore. and airing on Oregon Public Broadcasting, will be available in Alaska as a podcast starting July 2.

Other guests of the show include national recording artists The Thermals and Guard Dog animator Bill Plympton.

An actor, musician, writer and painter, Stitt has created a musical genre aptly described as "hypnotic theater-pop for the soulful and starry-eyed."

He has been compared to Rufus Wainwright, Tori Amos and David Bowie.

When not touring and performing his own music, Stitt has worked extensively with Alaska's nationally recognized Perseverance Theatre as composer, music director and actor, with roles ranging from Frank N. Furter in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" to Hedwig in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch."

At present he is wrapping up his season at Perseverance Theatre with the music and sound design for the summer production of "Equus."
