Reading to Rover

A girl in Pleasanton, Calif. reads to a therapy dog at the Read to Rover program, which is now being presented by Juneau Public Libraries at the Valley Public Library on Wednesday evenings in June. It is meant for children who are having difficulties with reading, but readers of every level have enjoyed the experience. To make an appointment, call Sandra Strandtmann at 586-0435. Library staff cannot respond to drop-in readers as the dogs and dog handlers must be scheduled in advance.
