Doctor joins Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital staff
SITKA - The SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium announces Noble E. Anderson, M.D., has joined the permanent staff at Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital. He will be caring for patients at the hospital as well as making regular field trips to see patients in Hoonah.

Dr. Anderson came to SEARHC to work intermittently at the hospital in 2006 and has decided to make Sitka his home. Before coming to Sitka, Dr. Anderson worked in Bethel, Kotzebue, Ketchikan, Washington State and California.

"After working at several different sites in Alaska and the West Coast, I am truly happy to call Sitka home," Dr. Anderson said.

"It is a wonderful community, both personally and professionally."

Dr. Anderson earned his medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. He completed a residency in family medicine at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Va., and he is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Dr. Anderson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in premedicine from The Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pa.

In addition to general family medicine, Dr. Anderson's special interests include obstetrics and evidence-based medicine.

He also enjoys hiking, fishing, photography and mountain climbing.
