First Alaskans Offers Scholarships

The First Alaskans Institute will be awarding up to $40,000 in scholarships to Alaska Native undergraduate students seeking a career in management and policy-making positions in the oil and gas industry. The Institute will select 20 students to receive a $2,000 scholarship each for the 2005-2006 academic school year. Scholarship funding is provided by a grant from the Alyeska Pipeline Service Company.

To be eligible, applicants must be Alaska Native undergraduate students who will be enrolled in the 2005-2006 academic school year. They must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Applications must be received by 4:30 p.m. on July 31, 2005. The First Alaskans Institute scholarship committee will review the applications, and announce the award recipients on August 12, 2005. To download a scholarship application or for more information, visit
