The Juneau Student Symphony will be bringing their music on the water
with a tour to Sitka and Hoonah. They will be traveling to Sitka on Friday, June 9, via Allen Marine catamaran to see a performance of the Sitka Summer Music Festival on that evening. On Saturday, June 10, they will rehearse a joint concert with local Sitka musicians together with Sitka Music Festival musicians and perform an evening concert at 7:30 at Blatchley Middle School in the MPR. On Sunday, June 11, they will return to Juneau, stopping in Hoonah on the way to rehearse and perform a joint concert at the Heritage Community Theater at Icy Strait Point at 4:30. Admission is free for both concerts and donations will be gratefully accepted. This tour is sponsored in part by the City and Borough of Juneau Youth Activities Grant, VECO and the communities visited. Haida Descendant Dancers
perform at Totem Bight on every second Friday of the month through September. The next performance will be Friday, June 9 at 6:30. Come see the Haida Descendant Dancers dance in traditional regalia while singing songs, telling stories, and drumming. Performances begin at 6:30 in the Totem Bight Clan House. Sara Hickman performs
The singer/songwriter/producer performs in Ketchikan, June 30 at the Kayhi auditorium. Sara Hickman is an award winning singer/songwriter with a wide range of guitar and vocal music. 'Much Ado About Nothing'
Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing on June 23rd, 24th, 30th and July 1st at Point Higgins Elementary School in Ketchikan will take you back to a Shakespeare Summer with a festival feel. Rain or shine, this production will go on.
