Haines professor to host lectures

Instructor Daniel Henry will host a three-part lecture series with Native and non-Native Elders covering the history of Native-white relationships in the Haines region.

The first class, which begins Thursday at Fort Seward Tribal House, is entitled "A Continuous Show of Force: Fort Seward and the Chilkat Threat."

Additional lectures take place July 3 and Aug. 8. All sessions run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and include a potluck lunch and open discussion.

General admission is $10 per session or $25 for all three at the door. University of Alaska Southeast course credit is available for an additional fee. To register for credit, contact John Hagen Jr. at 766-6727.
