Ian Kelley became an Eagle Scout at the Court of Honor May 31 at Skater's Cabin. To earn the Eagle Scout rank, a boy must earn at least 21 merit badges and complete an extensive self-designed service project. Ian's project was to demolish and rebuild a set of stairs at the Chapel by the Lake, the Presbyterian church which sponsors his boy scout troop. Ian has been a scout since first grade and has been active in two cub packs in Juneau, one cub pack in Haines and boy scout Troop 6 in Juneau. In Troop 6 Ian has served as quartermaster, librarian, games master, patrol leader, assistant patrol leader, and assistant senior patrol leader.
