The 17th annual Great Alaskan Craft Beer and Homebrew Festival took place Memorial Day weekend in Haines. The event began with a gourmet beer banquet on Friday night, then featured a tasting Saturday afternoon with beers from craft breweries around the state. Awards were presented for the best homebrews. Some of the winners are pictured. There were 102 entries, divided into 14 flights and four divisions. Best of Show: Steve Pierce, Oktoberfest. Best of Division1: Steve Pierce, Oktoberfest. Best of Division 2: Sean Mather, IPA American. Best of Division 3: Steve Pierce, Weizenbock. Best of Division 4:John Trapp,Giggidy Giggidy Sticky Juice.
