Sitka Health Summit meets June 1 for follow-up
SITKA- The public is invited to join community leaders from 1-2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 1, at Harrigan Centennial Hall for the first follow-up meeting to the Sitka Health Summit, "Working Together for a Healthier Sitka."

The purpose of this follow-up meeting is to keep the momentum going after the successful Sitka Health Summit, which took place April 26-27. The summit featured noted author and wellness expert Steven Aldana, PhD, as guest speaker, who talked about how making small lifestyle changes such as quitting tobacco, healthy eating and more physical activity can improve a person's overall health and help prevent or delay chronic disease.

The vision of the Sitka Health Summit is for Sitka "to serve our great state as a model for community wellness by creating a healthy community where Sitkans strive for and enjoy a high quality of life."
