Jose and Erlinda Ferrer celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on May 26. They were first married in, 1963 after nine years of engagement in Iloilo City, Philippines. With their children, Joel, Josielind and Jerry in tow, they moved to Juneau, Alaska in 1975. In front of their family and friends, they celebrated and renewed their vows to mark their 25th wedding anniversary at the Centennial Hall in 1988 officiated by Bishop Kenny. It was said to be the first wedding and reception held at the Centennial Hall with 25 couple entourage. Jose and Erlinda are both retired from the State of Alaska and keep a home in the Philippines for four months of the year, returning to Juneau to open up their downtown store, Erlinda's Gift. After yet another 25 years, Jose and Erlinda pre-celebrated and renewed their wedding vows marking their 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary. The renewal of marriage was celebrated at the couple's church, which they built and named after Erlinda's father, San Jose Chapel at Tapaz, Iloilo City Philippines on April 6, 2013.
