Engkilterra named SE Alaska director

The American Red Cross of Alaska names Shad Engkilterra as the new Southeast District Director for our organization. Engkilterra will be spearheading efforts for the entire Southeast Alaska region, and will be based out of the district office located at 3200 Hospital Drive, Suite 203, Juneau.

Engkilterra began working with the American Red Cross as a member of the Greater Kalamazoo Area's Health and Safety instructor team in Michigan.

In August of 2004, he moved to Anchorage to become the Health and Safety Manager for our state's chapter. He was promoted to the role of Southeast District Director on May 6.

"I am looking forward to working here and making a real difference in our community," he said.

Engkilterra is excited to assume this new role, and cites expanding Red Cross programs and services throughout the region as well as strengthening the financial base of the District operations as his primary goals.

"We are very pleased to promote Shad Engkilterra to position of Director for our Southeast operations," said Chief Executive Officer, Joe Mathis.

"Shad's expertise in the realm of emergency preparedness and Red Cross training programs will be a great asset in building our life-saving programs throughout the region."

A former Peace Corps Volunteer, Engkilterra is an avid geocacher and a fair to middling hiker.
