Dr. Thomas is new to Prince of Wales Island but he's worked as a physician in Southeast Alaska - in private practice in Juneau and at Sitka Community Hospital. He also has been a flight surgeon for the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard.
"Dr. Thomas is a very welcome addition to the Alicia Roberts Medical Center staff," said Cindy Gamble, Clinic Administrator for ARMC.

"SEARHC is a great organization and I strongly believe in the SEARHC mission," Dr. Thomas said. The SEARHC mission is "to provide the highest quality health services in partnership with Native people."
Dr. Thomas earned his medical degree from the West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, W.V., and he completed a residency in family practice in Daytona Beach, Fla.
While working in Daytona Beach he won the 1990 Quality Health Care Giver of the Year Award and the 1996 Most Compassionate Physician Award. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Preventive medicine, hormone replacement and anti-aging are professional interests for Dr. Thomas.
He also enjoys spending time with his family and flying as a private pilot.
