Volunteers needed for Relay For Life
JUNEAU - Walkers, cancer survivors (anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer), community leaders, team captains and hard workers are all needed to make the American Cancer Society Relay For Life a reality in Juneau-Douglas. Many people have already stepped up to make this year's Relay a huge success, but more are still needed.

Relay For Life, the Society's signature event, is a life-changing experience that helps us celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost and to fight back against a disease that takes too much. This unforgettable event raises awareness and funds to save lives, help those touched by cancer, and empower people to fight back against this disease. With the money raised at Relay, your American Cancer Society is working toward an important goal -- a future without cancer.

Participants from all walks of life - including patients, medical support staff, corporations, civic organizations, churches and community volunteers - join together in the fight against cancer. Relay For Life is a team event where participants walk around a track relay style overnight. Teams of cancer fighting enthusiasts will gather at Riverbend Elementary/Dimond Park on July 19-20 to show their support and dedication. Volunteers from the Juneau-Douglas community are needed to begin planning now for this event.
