2009 Ketchikan King Salmon Derby begins May 23, lasting through the next two weekends. Tickets are available at Alaska Liquor Store, Clover Pass Resort, Knudson Cove Marina, Lighthouse Grocery, Newtown Liquor, Murray Pacific Tongass Trading, Safeway, Salmon Falls Resort, South Tongass Service, and all Weigh-In Stations.

Annual Wildlife Cruise fundraiser for SAIL and ORCA, 5-7 p.m., departs from the Allen Marine dock, located next to the Fish House at Salmon Landing. Boarding begins at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $25, includes hors d'ouevres and non-alcoholic beverages. Chris Corrao will provide music on the guitar.

Spring Moon art show opening, 6-9 p.m. at Alaska Ink, 618 Water Street. All pieces will be for sale.
