Haines hosts a variety of events and festivals every summer, culminating in the Southeast Alaska State Fair at the end of July. Here's a preview of what's coming up in the next few months in Haines.
May 22 - 23: 17th Annual Great Alaska Craft Beer and Homebrew Festival
Taste beer from distributors and brewers from around the state and region. A gourmet dinner is held at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 22, with the Beer Festival tasting and Homebrew award ceremony from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, May 23 at Dalton City on the Southeast Alaska State Fairgrounds. May 23 - 25 and May 30-31: King Salmon Derby

June 20: Annual Kluane to Chilkat Bike Relay
This bike relay traverses the road from Haines Junction to Haines, 160 miles through Kluane Park and the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve. Details: Judy Ewald, 766-2455
June 20: 2nd Annual Fresh Salmon BBQ
A community event held at the Klondike in Dalton City. 100 fresh king salmon, BBQ, and music provided by the local Salmon Fisherman's Resource Development Association. Details: firstname.lastname@example.org
July 4: Independence Day Celebration

July 30 - August 2: Southeast Alaska State Fair
Four fun-filled days with live music, parade, exhibits, food, logging show, entertainment and more. This year's entertainment is scheduled to include Albino, Pamyua, The WhiskeyDicks, Nicole Fournier, Spoonshire, Shae Laurel, Love Life Music, Nicole Edwards Trio, and the Circus Contraption.
