Flame of Hope for Special Olympics will run through Juneau at 10 a.m. at the Brotherhood Bridge trailhead. Juneau is one 18 Alaskan communities across the state where law enforcement officers join people from all walks of life in a fundraising effort for Special Olympics. Juneau AmeriCorps members invite the community to join as the volunteer with Project Playground at Twin Lakes Saturday, May 19. Community barbecue to follow 6-7:30 p.m. at Cope Park. Bring a dish if you can. For information, contact Colleen McManus at mcmanus@servealaska.org or 789.6413.

Project Playgound seeking volunteers to help build the playground from May 15-19, and 22-26, at Twin Lakes. Sign up at ww.juneauplayground.com to volunteer for your shift(s) today.
