Earlier this month, the Alaska DMV announced that every driver in the state will get a new-look driver's license starting in June. You won't have to do anything special; you'll get the new design the next time you renew.

The license is brighter, tougher to counterfeit and the bigger picture ensures you'll have even more opportunities to regret what you were wearing.

For your convenience, licenses will no longer be issued over the counter at DMV offices. Instead, the DMV will mail your new license - after two weeks or so.

In the meantime, you'll be given a temporary license, which should work well on aircraft flights and for international travel, because the federal government has always worked so well with the state of Alaska.

The new design incorporates a bunch of new features, and here's a handy look at some of the changes.
