Juneau celebrates birds & birding
Juneau residents will celebrate International Migratory Bird Day on Thursday, May 12, 2005 with an evening program and activities at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitors Center. From 5:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., in the covered viewing area, activity stations for youth will focus on how birds feed. The Juneau Raptor Center will have live migratory raptors available for viewing from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Birds of Alaska author and photographer Bob Armstrong will be the keynote presenter at the main program that starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Visitor Center auditorium.

Events are free, and so is admission to the Visitor Center after 7 p.m.
