Writers' Weir: Clove, Simba, and Mr. Fishie

Clove, Simba and Mr. Fishie

By Miriam Wagoner

“Woof! Woof!” barks Clove

his tail, not waggling

looking confused and frowning

“Where are we going?”

“Meow, Meow,” says Simba

“What’s happening?”

to Pet Nanny’s he was going,

“Meow, meow until when?”

“Swoosh! Swoosh!” comes Mr. Fishie.

“Hey, I’ve got seniority, don’t forget me.”

He’s right he’s been a family pet

long before Simba and Clove joined the set.

I love you all, I said,

not sure how long we’ll be homeless

but I’ll make sure each one of you is cared for and loved

“We’ll all get through this, I promise.

We’ll be together again.”
