Bluegrass Camp for Kids

Sponsored by the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council and the Bearfoot Bluegrass Band, this year's Bluegrass Camp for Kids taught by members of the Bearfoot Bluegrass Band will be held July 9-12. The camp is for students ages 5-17, that will learn to play traditional bluegrass instruments and vocal techniques. Kids can choose to take fiddle, guitar, banjo, bass, mandolin or vocal sessions. Instructors cater to all ability levels. Pre-registration required. Spaces fill quickly. Ketchikan Community Concert Band

The spring concert pops up on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at 7pm. Tickets will be available at McPherson Music, from Band members and at the door. Call McPherson's at 225-3650 for more info and tickets.

KTB's Spring Gala

Ketchikan Theatre Ballet once again presents all of their dancers on the Kayhi Auditorium stage. The youngest dancers will perform on Saturday afternoon, while the older dancers present on Friday and Saturday evenings. Shows will be on Friday and Saturday, May 11 and 12, 2007. Jazz Night

Jazz Night in Ketchikan is held to raise money for the Joel Galley Memorial Scholarship Fund and will feature the Windjammers, Soundwaves and the Kayhi Jazz Ensemble.Bring a listening ear and an open heart to this event at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, on the Kayhi Auditorium stage. KTB's Spring Gala

The Castle will perform live Friday and Saturday, May 11-12. The older dancers will perform both days at 7:30 p.m., the youngest dancers of the ballet will perform on Saturday at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at the Arts Council, McPherson Music, Heavenly Creations and from KTB offices, 225-9311.

May 'Family Night'

The Association for the Education of Young Children- Southeast Alaska, KTOO, and the Ketchikan Public Library present Family Night at 5:30 p.m. May 10. There is a 100 ticket limit for this event and free tickets are available in advance from the children's library. Call 225-0370.
