Effective May 15, the fee for using state park public use cabins will increase by between $5 and $10 per night, depending on the location and demand.
According to the state park service, park cabin fees have not changed since 2005, but Alaska State Park operational costs during that period have increased by over 20 per cent.
Reservations for state park cabins made before May 15 will not be affected by the fee increase. A complete list of the new fees for state park public use cabins can be found at: http://dnr.alaska.gov/parks/asp/directorsorders.htm
