WRANGELL - The Wrangell Chamber of Commerce's 57th Annual King Salmon Derby will be held May 9 through June 7.The derby will begin at 6 a.m. on Saturday, May 9. Contestants fishing before 6 a.m. on opening day will be disqualified for the entire day.
Residents bag limits are three kings a day, no annual limit. Non-resident bag limits are two kings a day, six kings annual limit in District 8 only from May 1 to July 15, 2009.
The first prize is $6,000, the second prize is $4,000 and the third prize is $2,000.
Individual tickets are $30, which allows one person to fish.
