Webster's father died when she was 12 and she was abandoned by her mom two years later. After finding help from neighbors, Webster was brought to Alaska by family friend, Darcy Stetson, who fostered Webster since summer 2004.
Since then Webster has completed three years of high school in two years and maintained a 3.5 GPA and nearly perfect attendance. Webster has served as a leader at the school by running the student store for two years and assisting the school's Site Council search for new space. She currently participates in the Student Leadership Team and will graduate this year.
The Rotary Club of Juneau-Glacier Valley along with Yakoos Principal, Laury Scandling are pleased to acknowledge Webster's efforts. In appreciation of her efforts Webster received a $50 U.S. Savings Bonds compliments of Alaska Pacific Bank; a complimentary ticket to one of the three Pillars Speakers series; and certificate of achievement. The Rotary Club of Juneau-Glacier Valley encourages excellence in education and vocation through monthly student recognition in Juneau.
