Car seat checks set for Angoon, Haines, Kake
Parents, do you know if your child safety seat is properly installed in your car? Child safety seats work if you use them correctly, but they can cause injury if not installed properly.

Certified child passenger safety technicians will be in Angoon, Haines and Kake over the next few weeks to check your child safety seats for proper installation. The technicians will teach you how to make sure your child's safety seat is secured according to the manufacturer's directions.

The child safety seat inspections will take place:

• In Angoon, from noon-5 p.m. Friday, May 11, at the Angoon Wellness Fair that will take place that day at the Angoon Elementary School Gym. For information, contact Doreen McCluskey at 788-4637.

• In Haines, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, May 14, at the Haines Police Station parking lot. For information, contact Somer Cox in Sitka at (907) 966-8804.

• In Kake, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, May 18, at the Kake Police Station parking lot. For information, contact Georgie Reese at 785-3260.

Invest in your child's safety, buckle everybody up on every trip. This has been a safety message from the SEARHC Injury Prevention department and Alaska Safe Kids.
