HAINES - The mobile mammogram van will visit Haines starting on Thursday, May 7, with appointments running through the afternoon of Tuesday, May 19 (there will be no weekend appointments). This year the van has been updated to provide digital mammograms.
Women wanting to schedule a mammogram should call the SEARHC Haines Health Center at 766-6300.
All women will need to arrange to have a current clinical breast exam (done within the past six months) before they schedule their mammogram. If you have not had a current breast exam since November, you can make an appointment when you call to schedule your mammogram.
If you also are due for your women's health exam and heart health check, please let the clinic know so sufficient time is scheduled for you to have this done.
The SEARHC Women's Health Program provides free clinical breast exams, mammograms, Pap tests and cardiovascular screenings for all women ages 40-64 who meet income and insurance guidelines. To find out if you qualify, contact the SEARHC Haines Health Center or call the SEARHC Women's Health Program at 1-888-388-8782.
The mobile mammogram van program is sponsored by SEARHC and Bartlett Regional Hospital.
