JUNEAU - Final details are being worked out as Mayor Bruce Botelho, members of the CBJ Assembly and other community organizations prepare for the Capital City Forum on Saturday, April 25 from 9 a.m. until noon at Centennial Hall.
The forum is designed as a town hall meeting for all Juneau residents, and everyone is encouraged to come and voice their opinions.
According to Mayor Botelho, the primary purpose of Saturday's event will be to get residents up to speed on a number of capital city projects. These projects include the Alaska Committee, the Juneau Comprehensive Plan, Gavel to Gavel (daily legislative television coverage), and the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Alaska statehood.
Immediately following presentations on these projects, there will be small group discussions and brainstorming on what else can be done to enable Juneau to better serve the state as its capital city.
Key to the success of this initial gathering will be the ability for everyone's voice to be heard and the follow-up to ideas generated, according to Mayor Botelho.
