Robin Hopper

Robin Hopper has been writing songs and educating musicians in Alaska since 1984. In 2003, she won the Alaska Song of the Year contest, and she has been a finalist several times.

Hopper regularly performs at the Anchorage Folk Festival, in and around her home in Chugiak, and frequently travels to her hometown in Upstate New York to play.

Recently, a song of Hopper's was included on a compilation CD arranged by singer/songwriter Christine Lavin. The album consists of songs about food, including Hopper's "Fudge."The album made its way to the Grammy Award nomination ballot in two different categories.

In addition to performing, Hopper will lead a songwriting workshop at 12 p.m. on Sunday in the Hammond Room. All skill levels are encouraged.

Hopper's daughter, Katie, will be joining her on stage this year. They will perform at 9 p.m. on Friday.
