Jennifer Treadway, resource development director, and Mark Bryan, UWSEAK board chairman, accept a check for $633.81 from the JDHS student council.

The Juneau-Douglas High School's Student Council voted during their regular meeting on December 6, 2012 to donate the proceeds from their annual Spirit Change event during homecoming week to United Way of Southeast Alaska.

The Spirit Change event is part of the overall competition between grade levels. Broken down into four jars (freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior), silver coins counted as positive points and pennies counted as negative points in the jars of the competition. Over the week of January 27-February 2, 2013, JDHS students raised $636.81 for United Way of Southeast Alaska.
