Annexation opposed
PETERSBURG - Plans to annex a portion of Petersburg's borough is being met with opposition from citizens in outlying areas, reported the Petersburg Pilot.

Residents from Kupreanof, Papke's Landing and Farragut Bay would become subject to borough-wide taxes.

An anti-borough petition signed by residents say they would not have access to city services and school, lack voting rights in the city and do not wish for development where they live, according to the report.

Wharf parking closed

JUNEAU - Public parking at the Steamship Wharf (Marine Park Plaza) will be closed effective April 11. Entrances will be blocked and any vehicles left inside the plaza will be impounded.
